Chinese Style Chili Veg Meat

250g Good Dot Vegetarian meat
2 cup oil (for deep frying)(we recommend RCM Health Guard Rice Bran Oil)
2 tablespoon oil (for cooking)(we recommend RCM Health Guard Rice Bran Oil)
4-5 green chillies, slit
4-5 garlic cloves, chopped
1 teaspoon chopped ginger
1 large green capsicum cut in diced cubes
1 red capsicum (optional)
1 yellow capsicum (optional)
1 large onion cut in diced cubes
2 tablespoon maida (all-purpose flour)
2 tablespoon 1 + 1 tablespoon corn flour (corn starch)
2 teaspoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon green chilli sauce
2 teaspoons tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
1 teaspoon vinegar
Salt to taste
Water as required

Step 1: Batter Preparation – mix maida, corn flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt and water as need for medium thick batter consistency.
Step 2: Coat vegetarian meat pieces with the batter and set aside for 5-10 minutes to marinate.
Step 3: Heat cooking oil in a pan/kadai over a medium flame. Deep fry coated vegetarian meat pieces in oil until golden brown. Strain and then put on an absorbent paper to soak up any extra oil and set aside.
Step 4: Mix 1 tablespoon corn flour in 3 tablespoons of water and set aside. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan. Add chopped ginger and chopped garlic then sauté for 30 seconds over a medium flame. Add onion cubes and sauté for 30 seconds over a high flame then add capsicum cubes, green chillies and cook for 1 minute. Keep stirring frequently.
Step 5: Add fried vegetarian meat, chilli sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, salt, black pepper and dissolved corn flour. Stir and cook over a high flame for 1-2 minutes until vegetarian meat pieces are coated well in the sauce.
Garnish with spring onion and serve hot with rice.
